I have been off work all week due to an intestinal illness. Not exactly the best way to spend a few days but I am happy to be back amongst the living and feeling much better. While I was in the hospital Dave proved that he is not as incompetent that he has pretended to be all these years and took Ryan to the eye doctor...well maybe he is still just a LITTLE incompetent but my boy can see again.

When I got home from the hospital our sewer backed up in the basement. Dave called a plumber friend of his. He told me the plumber would be out the next day in the afternoon, I asked if if we should have the toilet in the powder room looked at as well? The water will click on out of the blue, several times an hour. When I was up all night sick, every time that toilet would fill up with water I could feel my hard earned money going down the drain along with the water. Dave said, "No, I can fix that, I already fixed it once." I said, "Great, can you maybe fix it correctly then?" Needless to say, my toilet still runs. I guess I will just pick my battles....there are just so many to choose from, I could fill up a history book.

Kelsey has started a new thing, she comes home from school every day and asks for at least 100 dollars. She needed money for her athletic fee, money for her student council fee and money for the gazillion people that she owes for all the rides home. One of her teachers sent home a note at the beginning of the year asking each parent to write a paragraph about their child to help get to know them a little better. I, being the good mom decided to just sign the paper and forgo the paragraph. If I wrote one, it may go something like this;

Dear Mrs. Whatserface,

You would like me to write a paragraph about Kelsey? Well for starters I am spending 10,000 to send her to this school, for that price get to know her yourself. However, I would have time to write a paragraph if it wasn't for the fact that she has signed up for the maximum amount of clubs, programs, sport teams and extra curricular activities. You see I spend most of my free time driving Kelsey all over the state of Missouri. Therefore I don't have time to write a paragraph. Please forgive me.

Sincerely,

Colleen Murphy

PS, If you need a volunteer for anything, pick Kelsey, she would love to do it!!

Now if Shannon's teacher needed a paragraph....that is another story.

Dear Mrs. Whatserface,

I would like to tell you about Shannon.....hold on a minute, I need to tell her to roll over on the couch, I don't want her to get bed sores.

I am sure we will have a great school year!!!
